"Ghost" image of Raid 5 w/sata drives

Has anyone done any "ghosting" of a raid 5 array using sata drives? We have been doing some testing on a server with 6 sata drives in a raid5 array and every time we have to start over, they have to wipe the drive clean and reinstall everything which shuts down our testing for 2 days. Our IT guys are telling us they are having trouble finding software to image the drive(s).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Bill

Ghost should work, depends on the SCSI controller.

I would suggest integrating Ghost into a BartPE CD. This way you can load network support first and Ghost will work over the network. You can also integrate the SCSI drivers ;)

Thanks Dan. I think they've looked at Ghost, but I'll pass this info along to our IT dudes. I know absolutely nothing about it, but I know the downtime kills me when it happens and this is only in a test environment. I hate to think what happens if one of our production servers go down in the field!

Don't know if it matters, but the O/S is MS 2003 Server w/SP1.

It doesn't matter at mate :)

You boot off the bart CD, install network support, map your drive to your image to restore and run ghost :D

When your build your bart CD, you add the drivers needed for network & SCSI. Then the bart CD can see the disk system & local network :)
