Can't access cookies folder, and more
For about 2 months now, I haven't been able to get into 2 websites I used to be able to get into.
I have tried everything, playing with the firewall, deleting browser cache, cookies etc etc. Pinging the websites etc etc...virus/spyware scans.. nothing has worked.
So lately- I have been "deleting" my cookies and I just had an inkling it wasn't working as i kept doing virus scans and more tracking cookies would be found. I have found about 20 so far, in the cookies folder- which is supposed to be empty.
So i went and tracked down where they were being held- and surprise suprise, no cookies folder. No cookies folder anywhere.
I have got everything off hidden, I have searched, and manually searched- and I just went to start, run, and entered cookies.
An empty folder comes up.. and it says
C:\Users\*name*\Cookies is not accessible.
Access Denied.
Now I am not sure if thats even the proper command, I read on an article it was, so I tried that. And yeah- still nothing. Which leads me to believe I have a virus.
I am using AVG & Windows Defender and so far- Defender hasn't even came up with a thing, and AVG comes up with things but it dosn't change whats going on now in the slightest.
I am so sorry if this problem has already been asked or diagnosed. I do feel bad for writing you guys and asking, cos I see it all the time when I google about comp problems. So i don't wanna use yas.. I just really need some help!
These are military websites, and my security certs are proper because I can log onto AKO- but I need some help asap otherwise im going to be moving back over to the states and have absolutely no clue about my new base!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and sorry for the novel.
