Speed issues with Lite On lh-20a1h
I purchased this Lite On drive around 3 months ago. At first it started out reading and burning at around 2x max. This kind of shocked me. After the 3 months now it burns around the 5-6x and reads about the same rate. This is well below the specs (20x). I have tried upgrading the only firmware update they have and have tried the drive in a different ide (currently is a slave to my hd) and in a different computer with the same results. Every once in awhile the drive will kick up to like 10-12x once the buffer remains constant...but 99% of the time the buffer is constantly jumping around. I have both the hd and drive set to ultra dma as well. Is there any other setting I could have that would be not allowing my drive to get to its desired speed. Thank you
