Wireless help

edited May 2007 in Science & Tech
Hi

I have a problem connecting to my router wirelessly. I can connect locally, but I cannot use the internet, even sometimes when I am right next to the modem. I can work online through my ethernet cable. Im not sure what info you need to advise me, but any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure what you mean. You mean you connect wirelessly but all you have is the local network: not the Internet?
    1. Do you connect to your wireless network? There should be something in the lower right corner that tells you you're connected successfully.
    2. If you go to Start> Run... then type this, "cmd /k ipconfig /all" (no quotation marks but everything exactly). Then scroll to the wireless card and post back with:
    DHCP Enabled?
    IP address?
    Default Gateway?
    DNS servers?
