GA-7N400 Pro2 (Rev 1.x) SATA disk detected!

edited May 2007 in Hardware
Hi there!

I am quite a newbee here, but the forum helped me in the past, so I'd like to pay my share.

For all of those who have trouble having their SATA disk (mine was a Samsung 250Gb) detected, there is a workaround.

Some will say, 'oh yeah, no big deal', but on the other hand, when I read posts where people say, 'SATA on this board is never going to work due to a faulty Sillicon chip..', Well, that is not the case either.

One might discuss a single SATA disk not being detected, OK.

This post is meant for all those who have a regular Windows booting IDE disk, having trouble to access their SATA disk and/or have it detected by windows.
I did it.
If you want to know how, let me know.

Cheers,

Frank

Cardo, if you're interested in writing out a workaround for this in anticipation of someone else having this issue, that'd be great. However, as a new member, posting an invitation to solicit you for the solution in a closed thread (suggesting they'd need to contact you privately) is, to say the least, fishy. I've reopened this thread for now.

    Cheers. :)
