I would like to change the icon and description that appears in the taskbar when an application is opened.
You know the one down the bottom when u open IE or any other program. Basically I want to change the icon that shows that i am playing WOW - sad sod that i am !!!!! :sad2:

If you can point me to where i can change the icon that would be good - if i can change the description as well that would be ideal.

Thank You

Hawk - thanks for the reply - but i dont want to change a desktop icon _ I want to change the icon that appears in the taskbar at the bottom of the page.
Next to the Start button - i have my quick launch icons - then when an app opens; a small box with an icon and a description of the app appears next to the quicklaunch. This is the icon i want to change.

    Cheers

Ok, So you have your quick launch bar enabled and your quick launch icons show next to the start button.
    Next;
    <table class="numberedList" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr valign="top"><td class="listNumber" align="right" nowrap="nowrap">1.
</td><td>Right-click the Quick Launch icon you want to change, and then click Properties.
    </td></tr><tr valign="top"><td class="listNumber" align="right" nowrap="nowrap">2.
</td><td>On the Shortcut tab, click Change Icon.
    </td></tr><tr valign="top"><td class="listNumber" align="right" nowrap="nowrap">3.
</td><td>In the Change Icon dialog box, click Browse, navigate to the new icon you want to use, select it, and then click Open.
    </td></tr><tr valign="top"><td class="listNumber" align="right" nowrap="nowrap">4.
</td><td>Click OK, and then click OK again to apply the change.
    Hope this helps.
    </td></tr></tbody></table>

He wants to change the icon of active/open programs residing on the start bar. Not the system tray, not the start menu, not the quick launch: The bar itself.

I'm at a loss how to change the bar itself.
Maybe one of our coding guru's can tell us how it's done.

AFAIK, that uses the icon that is embedded into the .exe file that opened the task.

You might be able to change that for some programs, but WOW checks your .exe every time you log-in to make sure that you haven't modified it (to catch cheaters), and will replace it with a new copy if it doesn't match the original.
