How to open .dmp files

My computer has been restarting on a whim recently, i've found the minidump folder, how do i open the .dmp files?

    Try right-clicking, then use "Open With..." and use Notepad.

    When I do that it just comes up as random gibberish.

    Yeah gibberish it turns out, so how do i make some sense to it ? i read on the forums that they could help you with the problem if you'd post the minidump file, hehe so do i paste the gibberish?
