DVD Freezes

Hi all, I have posted a reference to this issue here: but I think its a seperate issue. every time I try to play a dvd the system freezes, im talkin one of those mega massive all intensive freezes that wont even let good ol ctrl + alt + del work. I thought it could be the asus dvd software, so I tried playing in media player, same problem. so I tried backin the overclocks back to standard, no effect. I even tried reloading the asus dvd software. no joy... internal temps dont seem to be the problem the heat comin from the exhaust fans is warmish but not what Id clasify as HOT.

Im outta ideas so I thought Id put it out to the Short Media universe and hopefully someone will know the answer...
