I posted early in the emergency section due to a non-posting computer.

I have one other question to ask. Is a 700W PSU enough to run one 8800GTS 640MB video card?

If not, the problem I had asked about it the emergency section may be solved.

It almost certainly will be, unless you are running like 12 hard drives or something. The 8800 GTS uses around 260 - 280 watts at full load.

Wattage really means nothing. Quality over quantity when it comes to PSUs.

Often PSU manufactures report wattage numbers but the product most likely will not be able to supply those wattages in real world applications.

    Agreed with mmonnin,

You can't really go very wrong if you keep within 4 or 5 well known brands. Even though the psu is $10-$30 more expensive, it is well worth it.

Aye my Antec 330W PSU lasted through many upgrades starting with a lowly 1800+ to a 3200+ A64 still with voltages at spec. No one here would suggest anything with that low of 'wattage' for that computer.

I'm running a 700w OCZ with my 8800GTX, an overclocked C2D E6600, 3 sata hard drives and a dvd burner. You'll be fine.

But he didnt mention it was an OCZ PSU either though. That surely would have no problem at all. My OCZ 520z PowerStream has no problem with an OCd E6600 1950 XT and 2x Raptors.
