I posted a similar thread a while back but the problem still persists. I can't get any audio when playing DVDs in WMP 10. I have never been able to play theses since I built this machine 18mos ago. Any suggestions?

What decoder are you using? There are quite a few out there. They are free and it sounds like you might need one. Are you able to play DVDs and hear sound when using any other program? If you are, then just download any one (the one I use is K-Lite Mega). Once you do, you could use either the included media player classic or the windows media player 10. Retail codecs are cyberlink, nvidia, intervideo, and nero for example.

Many times, other programs that install codecs jumble up recently installed ones and may conflict, which might be an explanation for you only being able to play DVD video and not hear the audio.
