PowerVR is a video card company that's just as old as ATI and nVidia. Their development of a proprietary 3D API failed more miserably than 3DFX's glide did, but for different reasons. It just sucked.

They've sinced TRIED to atone for their sins by shunning their old products and producing cards compatible with DirectX and OpenGL only, but those also suck. The Kyro series is no exception to the rule.

Crap card from a company with a vibrant history in crappiness.

Rock on PVR, you guys suck.

The Kyro series of cards were among the shortest-living cards ever released. First released in early August 1999, they did not have support for T&L, the newest technology released by NVidia on August 29, 1999 with their GeForce 256.

Selling a card with TNT2 technologies but at a GeForce 256 price in 1999 meant instant death for the Kyro.

Nobody bought Kyro because they were overpriced, underperforming, non-supported pieces of hardware. Enuf said.
