hp pavilion 6553 bios update?

im sure no 1 will real this.. but u have an old hp pavilion 6553 and i need a bios update, its a phenix bios and their website is driving my more crazyer

    I hate to tell you, but I don't think there is an upgraded bios available. :(

    i cant remember, but I've unplugged everything, ie hdd, floppy and stuff like that and i still get it

    if any 1 can help me find the jumper to clear the cmos =\

    the board is made by asus its a hawk mew-vm damn jumper whare are you?!?!?!?!

    i did that before and it didnt do anything so i left it alone for the night and tried it about 45 mins ago and it boots fine, :D:D:D:D:D thx guys

    You had to leave the battery out long enough for it to re-set itself.

    I'm happy it's now working.

    I would replace the battery too, it sounds like it is dying. You can pick up 5 of them on eBay for like $5 anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem.

    i'm trying to fix a HP Pavilion 6553...
    when it powers up the HD light comes on and stays on... doesn't do anything else. just stays lit up and never starts... both power and HD light are on.

    i have tried booting without the HD, putting another HD on there, removed the battery, checked and made sure that everything was seated right, but nothing is working... any help is appreciated... thanks in advance!
