How difficult is it to add a microcode update to bios?

Like the title says, I was wondering how difficult it would be to add a microcode update to a bios so that the board would correctly identify a newer processor line than what the manufacturer officially supports? The reason I ask is that I've tried a Barton 2500 in my KG7-R and 8KHA+ boards and it ran fine, but was recognized as an "unknown processor" at xxxx MHz. Even though bios didn't correctly identify the proc, the full 512k of L2 cache was recognized per WCPUID and it folded like it was using the full L2 cache too(a little bit quicker than a Tbred at the same speed). I know that it is only cosmetic, but it would be nice if the correct proc ID could be added to the bios for these 2 boards.
