How do I tell somone to startup WinXP in safe mode?

    Just remember that if he doesn't see the words "Safe Mode" in the corners of his screen, or get the Safe Mode box, after hitting F8 during bootup, he is *not* in Safe Mode. There are limited functions available, the main one being able to go into your Control Panel and fix any problems. If your friend is unsure and decides not to go into Safe Mode, he'll have the option to go to System Restore.
