Anyone want to play with my hardware?

edited November 2003 in Hardware
I have overclocked my comp successfully before but I am not sure if I am getting as high of overclocks as I should be. I have a 2500 barton, 1Gig Corsair XMS LL PC3200, Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0, Coolermaster Aero 7+.

I have ran the system at 2.19 Ghz @235 x 9.5 @ 1.9v but it was only windows stable. I couldnt pass Prime 95 if I had to. My memory timings were are 2,3,3,8 @ 2.9v. I tried back the FSB down to 230 but I was still not Prime stable. I had CPU Int enabled so I didnt take the hit in memory bandwidth. Chipset was set at 1.7v . I have a Microcool Northpole Northbridge cooler and heatsinks on the mosfets (yes a controversial cooling solution but it cant hurt), and good air flow through the case. My powersuppy is a 420 Watt PSU but when I have the voltage set to 1.7v for the CPU in the BIOS, Aida32 only reads 1.65v (default AMD voltage) going to the CPU and the BIOS reads 1.68v.

I guess what I am really wanting to know is: are these the typical limitations for my setup? Are there any suggestions for overclocking or new hardware to buy? Could my power supply be holding me back? Any suggestions or overclocking results with similar hardware would be appreciated. If anymore information is needed, let me know.

    Hmmm.
Memory and mobo are great! Chip is should hit 2.3 completely stable with good cooling. What are your temps like?

I hit appx 42-45 under load depending on the ambient Temp
    idle appx 38-40

    Edit

I have no clue why I put this in this forum....
Is there anyway I can have it moved to the over clocking section so I wont have to double post?

Have you tried any other combinations of the same end freq, like 213 x 10.5? Most peps OC'ing the Bartons have been doing 10,5 or 11 multi's w/ different FSB's and getting 2.3 and higher end result.

Yeah you need to mess around with the FSB and multi. Your RAM might not be able to take that high FSB. I get 2.14 on my KX7 and 1800+. I know you can do more.

Mine is at 170*12.5 if you wanted to know. I just want high mhz for folding. Doesnt really matter if I have the high FSB now. I am getting a new mobo for Christmas.
