ABIT AT7-MAX2 the only serial raid0 mobo?

Hi there, I'm currently starting to research on what my next system will be. I have to say 2 10k Serial ATA Rapter drives by WD are calling me bigtime :) Raid0 all the way :)

But whats bothering me is what mobo to put them in. Is the Abit at7max 2 the only serial mobo out there with raid? I really liked the idea of the nforce2 mobos espiecially the nf7. But with those I would have to get a Serial raid card if I wanted raid0 right?

If anyone knows of any other raid0 SATA mobos let me know please.

Thanx Komete

According to the NF7-S manual, it supports RAID-0 and RAID-1...

The AT7-MAX2 does not support RAID on its SATA ports but it has the advantage of having the HPT374 controller onboard that not only allows for RAID but it gives you 2 more IDE connectors for a total of up to 10 drives.

:D My HPT374 ate my PCI bus with WD's on it. I should have never followed the crazy ideas of others ;)

The NF7-S supports SATA (as Bill pointed out). Im looking at Raptors myself. Id be interested to see the scores once you got some. But then.. I did read this..

    Maxtor SATA Raid-0 review

    Check out the scores

The new Abit KV7 (Via KT600) board will have SATA raid.

Mr Bill, do you think tey are referring to software raid? The reason that I ask is becouse I want to use the array as my boot disk and I dont think you can do that with software raid.

    No, it's hardware raid. :)

You can download the manual from here.

Ahh.. Thank You MrBill that one looks like the winner :)

Now it's time to start slowly buying the parts. Once it's all done I'll have the nf7-s mobo, 1 gig of ddr400, a 2600+ or above and the 2 WD raptor harddrives in raid0. I'll use my 9500pro and maybe play with the onboard sound.

Then Like i say every year I hope this system will last me for 2 years but ends up just being a little over 1 :P

BTW I saw a benchmark of the raptors on sandra with os installed and in day to day use and it scored 64,000. That would be a big bump from my old raid setup that would get mid 40'000s
