edited July 2003 in Hardware
Im in the UK and looking at getting one of these babies to replace my 9700Pro. Question is who makes the best one eg games, software supplied, clock speeds, cooling etc?

tomshardware recently had a small videocard shootout, its still on the first page. there ought to be a couple 9800's in there. if not, i've seen another shootout recently, i'll go find it for you

Hmmm... Why would you replace your 9700Pro? It's still a kick ass card

Im after replacing it, as I have noticed recently it just isnt able to keep up in some games, which is annoying, and can be fatal to my in game character.

The new Radeon on the R400 core, is supposed to be on PCI-X only, and my shuttle doesnt have that, also a few games coming out will benefit from the extra memmory of the 9800Pro

Yeah...future games will probably bennefit from the extra 128MB but today the difference between a 9700Pro and a 9800Pro isn't that big.

The cheapest cards often have the same cooling while Hercules and I think Sapphire have enhanced cooling. All 256MB cards have extra cooling on the mem as far as I know.
