Cannot install WS2003

When I try to install Windows Server 2003 on my server box with a freshly partitioned and formatted Hitachi 120GXP, it gets stuck in the DOS-style first menu saying something like "Analyzing disk0 on channel0...", at the point before you get to select the partition you want to install onto. W2K Pro doesn't get that error.
I've installed WS2003 from the same CD before, on the same machine, though the CPU was a P3-700, it has a Celeron 333 now though. The rest of the hardware configuration is listed in my signature under "Echidna".

Amazingly, it runs much faster on that machine than XP.

Not suprising giving the M$/Intel=WIntel relationship.

i think he was saying windows xp, not athlon xp.

keelhaul, is that within the minimum requirements? my other thought is that the cpu is dying, or the ram might not be up to snuff, although i assume that the only that's changed is the cpu. is there any way for you to get a hold of another socket 370 cpu and install Win2k3 with it, and then swith back to the cely? or slot 1 i guess if that's what you have.

This is a Slot1 CPU, that's why it's not easy to get replacement. My friend loaned me his Cele 333 when the P3 700 stopped working. Before that I had a PPGA Celeron with an adapter, but i sold it already.
