XP Start Button Delay?

Is there any way to remove the delay from when you click the start button, to when it shows it's depressed (in classic mode)? It's annoying coming from Windows 2000, it seems to have a small but perceptable delay from when you click it to when you see it being depressed!

I tried changing the menu show delay from 400 to 0, it didn't fix it. It simply applys to the menus and submenus, not the button animaiton itself.

hmm odd. anyway, i disabled APIC and installed Windows 2000 which fixed the jittery taskbar problem. Maybe the same problem with APIC manifested itself in XP as the start button depression delay.

My PC isn't the problem since I have a 2500+ barton & 512MB PC2700 DDR in DC mode.
