Help.......loose DIMMs

I have an older board (well it's only a year old) in a box I built for someone that I had to ship. they sent it back saying it didn't work and never checked anything very far. Upon inspection I found that the memory in the DIMM slot came loose and also noticed that it isn't real tight anyway.

My question is; Is there any way to secure the DIMMs so they won't come loose during shipping? I have rubber cement on the IDE cable and case wire connections but don't feel comfortable doing that to the memory.

I used to ship 100 to 200 boxs a year and (not for my own but for the shipped ones) used to apply a light line of rubber cement to cards memory etc....

Spike just got a ECS system I send and the box looked great and the case was smashed to shit. Broke all the plastic things holding the front of the case on. Hard disks hanging by one screw etc... Just beat to shit. Got here and Robs nephews box hadnt worked after shipping. Power supply connection to motherboard was off. 3 screws rattling around and one motherboard mounting thing rattling free. I mean WTF???

Used to the packing cases and cases themselves were more sturdy. Now the cheap lighweight cases are neat untill you have to ship the damn things. In the old days they were steel and much thicker styrofoam around the cases in the box.

I was afraid of the cement seeping into the holes behind the contacts on the DIMMs and card slots.

rubber cement isnt so bad. be a pain for people like us that pull stuff a part all the time but when I shipped stuff it was a god send. Just wait a few seconds till it thickens a bit. I have not used it in three years but may start again. When I shipped it was usually to people not building or modding boxs but simply wanting it to turn on and work right. You know with rubber cement if thats the case before it leaves and its very easy to cleran off.
