    Try HP products at newegg.com. My HP is about 8 years old and
    works like new.

    I have the worst luck with computer printers in the world. I have had Epson and HP all sucked horribly. HP is a crappy company anymore, and Epson batted 50/50 with me. I decided to go back to buy an old printer - when HP was worth more of a shit. I bought a used HP LaserJet 4000T for $400 on ebay (after shipping & with a free toner cartridge). It had 13,000 pages of use when I bought it and is now up to 20,000. I haven't even replaced the first toner cartridge yet. I absolutely love it.

    Since you mentioned Photos I will recomend the HP Photosmart 7550. I have been very happy with mine as it prints at a decent speed, makes great photo prints and is easy to use. I know it costs more than you said you wanted to spend but think it is worth it. If not the HP Photosmart 7350 is a little slower and doesn't have all the features but prints just as good quality. My father-in-law has one and he hasn't had any problems either. You can check both out here.

    that "HP is a crappy company remark" is a little out of line. HP's computer section is out for the count in terms of quality ONLY because of the merger with Compaq. as Compaq makes nothing else, this isn't a problem in terms of any other part of their business. I have several HP printers, all are great. I like the All-In-One HP PSC 1210... nice and cheap

    I kinda ruled out the HP line because they dont have individual ink tanks. I dont use refill kits so it could get expensive if I replaced a tri-color cartridge if 1 color ran out. I am looking at the Canon i850 and their i950 printers. I have research the Lexmarks. I do know their support was wonderful on an Lexmark Z22 I have.

    I have had 3 Canon printers, helped 2 other friends with them and have learned 2 things from this;

    1. Their entire support system is terrible. Everything from getting help with issues to RMA'ing a defective product sucks. It takes way too long to get REAL replies on email, phone support is a joke and forget snail mail.

    2. Their drivers have given me more fits, especially the updates and upgrades than any from any other major supplier of hardware. They cause system conflicts and a lot of times just plaind won't work. I have gotten a lot of "Canon Manager failed to load" on booting into windows.

    My vote is on the HP Photosmart 7550. If that's too expensive, get the 7350. It has no color display and you have to switch the black and photo cartridges when necessary, but it's an excellent printer.

    I own the 7350, and I've never had issues. I work at Office Depot and that's almost all I sell in the way of photo printers. Nearly all the customers who come back to comment on the printer have nothing but praise.

    I have a Canon i550 Inkjet printer. It has high print quality and does a very respectable job of printing out photos. It cost me $150.
