DVDxCopy Doesn't burn a movie to a DVD disc, it copies a movie off of a DVD disc

I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 to author DVD's

Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 to author, create dvd folders (vob's)

then i would burn it all with Nero.

i had many problems burning with ULEAD.

Cool, I'll check out Ulead Movie Factory. And for anyone looking for a similar program, do NOT go for Easy CD Creator 6 Platinum. It's complete junk. I've had problems with Sonic MyDVD too.

321's XCopy is good, simple but pricey.

DVD Shrink is good and it's free. You can use that to extract & compress, then Nero to burn.

Have used V2.3 many many times and there's a beta, V3.0, out now. Can't beat for free.

Just had a rethink on this in the clear light of day and realised the software I listed above isn't actually authoring software.

DVDShrink does offer limited authoring with a frame stop/start facility, but it's not as comprehensive as tmpeg & tmpeg +

Don't actually use any DVD authoring software, come to think of it. I use Pinnacle Studio 8 for movie editing captured VHS & home movies.

I believe there is a Demo available of Sonic Foundry (newly aquired by Sony:mad: ) of DVD Architect but you also need to download the Vegas 4.0+ demo to run it. It is a DVD authoring package.

Advice, download the manuals first and do homework before the time limited demos.

    Hi all,

I have been reading this thread and have used all the mentioned software and find that DVD Shrink is the best by far for copying dvd's. But here is my question........

i have tried, sonic dvd it and ME, inter WinDVD creator2 and Ulead Music Factory to convert AVI files to DVD format ready to burn with Nero6, but when i play the end result, either the files on the pc or after i have burned it to dvd, the picture stutters, quality is perfect, but it stutters. Kinda like a split second freeze frame, noticable more when the picture is panning or there is lots of action.

Have you guys got any tips to stop this? As it happens on all the mentioned software.

    thanx Rob

Rob, sounds liek a PC issue, maybe too much stress on the hard drive? (can't read/write fast enough)

I also set the motion estimate to the highest setting, triples the compression times but looks so awesome :)

BTW, a lot of this info and guides can be found at dvdrhelp.com

well i don't thinks its a stress thing as my pc is fast enough, it also happens on my GF's PC so i though maybe a codec issue. But i have tried a few different ones with no change.

BTW which software are you talking about?

    Rob
