multiple device, and sleep LEDs

ok most computers have 1 led for hdd activity. I recently bought a server type case with 12 5 1/2" bays.... anyway, There are LED's listed on the front panel of the case as follows.....
Power
Sleep
Device1
Device2
Device3
Device4
Device5
Device6
it was no problem getting the power LED going, but what about the device LEDs? the wires for each LED are the same as the basic IDE LED you find on most cases. But Where do all of them go?
and a side question, what about the sleep LED? do not all motherboards have one of those prongs?
