Thanks for the point to Toms Hardware, but we already got it covered. If you are interested in reading more about it, you can check it out on our front page at <A HREF="http://www.icrontic.com&quot; target=blank>Icrontic.com</A> and also below at the handy Icrontic.com link just above the vBulletin Version. And welcome to Icrontic . . .

it doesn't matter what tom's says, i'd rather have an athlon64 FX over a p4 EE any day of the week.

Uncle Tomshardware review was pure BS. I dont think an internet review has ever pissed me off as much as his did. Dude must have Intel Inside on the back pocket of his jeans.

Tom's Hardware has been, and always will be, the single most biased site on the web. I make it a goal to visit that sight as little as humanly possible (aside from checking out this review a few minutes ago, I can't remember the last time I have been there.) Tom and is lackies are arragent know-it-alls with fan boys that go beyond even Mac fan boys. And he obviously has some high paying contract with Intel to be their mouth piece.
Here, the reasons that motivate end customers are quite clear. In their circle of friends, a 64-bit CPU is a guarantee for prestige and attention. In Athlon freak communities, having an Athlon 64 is almost the same as being raised to nobility.
Perfect example of the BS that the site passes off as journalism. It is for this reason that I make it a rule that I never link to them, ever, for anything, on the front page.

    :D

yeah, i agree, if there is any single review site that is paid directly by intel, it has to be Tom's. but, that doesnt mean we need to discriminate against our new friend. he is still welcome all the same :D . . .

I agree with you, but it still doesnt make the statement false. If i had a Opteron I WOULD be the envy of ALL!

Ok, Ok, so it is true :p . Still, seems just alittle biased to refer to AMD communities as freak, especially in 'professional' journalism. Besides, I think we would all envy you if you had an Itanium 2 or even a P4EE :D.

Yes, it is very unprofessional journalism on THG's part, but I would not expect anymore than an unbiased review from them.

no, you arent off topic at all. i really dont know what to do, i built this computer last summer, so its about a year old. unfortunately, i got suckered into pre-ordering an athlon 2200+ (tbred a) and it totally sucked (my at7 did not like it one bit). so shortly after i got a 2100 tbred b, and i like it much much better. so i guess i want to wait a bit, because i cannot tell you have pissed i was once i had already paid for that 2200 and then the results were coming out that it sucked and was a poor overclocker AND was incompatible with the at7 for some freak reason. anyway, thats about where i am at . . .
