Asus A7N8X dlx + Raid-card
Hi.
I need to ask this:
Has anyone other than me experienced problems running raid-cards on this motherboard?
I had problems with my harddrives just "disconnecting" in windows... becoming unavailable when running the first raid controller. That was a cheap brand, so I thought it was product-related.
Then I bought a RocketRaid 404 to replace it, and for a time it ran good. But then it started to happen with that too.
As far as I can remember, i haven't experienced that on drives connected to the onboard ide controller of the card.
(The onboard S-ATA controller has never been in use / disabled)
Eventually, drives started getting corrupted.
This is however just one of the approaches I have to the problem.
I'm running a 350W PSU in this machine, and at max I was having 5 or 6 harddrives running in addition to iPOd via firewire, cd-rw, dvdrom my chassis taking some power and of course my 2200+ xp.
Could lack of power result in the system booting normally, and then suddenly not have enough power for one drive to work so it just disconnects that one and leave the others working?
Heat?
Any driver incompatibility?
