TV-tuner on Radeon 9700Pro All-in-wonder...

edited September 2003 in Hardware
I've recently bought the Radeon 9700 Pro All-in-wonder, The Beast, (wow a long name ???) and think it's a great card.
however, the built in tv tuner seems to miss something... when i want to watch telly on the computer, i have to run a guide and halfway through, i reach the channel init. screen and have to select if it's cable or antenna the signal comes from... then just above that selection, there's a dropbox where i have to choose which format it uses, however, the dropbox is empty.... ???? i can't choose the signal format!!! And i can't just skip the step and I'm sure there is a signal...
The program i use is ATI multimedia center ver. 8.1

if you know what the problem is, plz do tell me... thnx

Interesting, I use the default settings and have no issues. I updated to 8.1 myself (whatever the latest download available from the site is) and it actually solved some bugs I had. :)

I never had that issue, maybe because I never tried changing much...

on my machine nothing but multimedia center 8.0 work. trying to update to anything else results in a screwed up tv tuner... i'm blaming it on intel incompatibility

Hmmm, I uninstalled, then installed multimedia center and suddenly it worked... hmm but now, at startup it has an error:

EAZYLOOK can not be started because of out of date display drivers.
Please ensure ensure that you have installed the latest Radeon display drivers.

The rest of the program works fine.... and the display drivers are the latest catalyst drivers.... Well, at least i can watch telly now :)

Are you following the specific installation order for the drivers? I rename them after download with 1-2-3 in the order they need to be installed, and after each is installed it requires rebooting.
