Im tring to reinstall WinXP and all goes well with the setup till about 75% the way though I get a BSOD a file is interfering or some such bulloks. after that the comp will restart and the process will start again.
The file in question is nv_agp.sys
The screen said to try turning off the chache and shadowing options inthe BIOS which I did to no avail.

Does this motherboard have onboard video?

I had a similar problem once and pulled the AGP video card, then reinstalled XP using the onboard video, and finally disabled the onboard and reinstalled the AGP card.

    Just a thought.

Not a bad suggestion matpoh, but you can probably disable the onboard video in the bios (assuming that would be the issue) or through a jumper on the motherboard.

The file it's stopping on is a video driver for nvidia cards. Either the cd's files are corrupt/damaged (not likely), the motherboard's interfering in some way, or the video card's defective...

I had the onboard video disabled and it still wouldn't work. I worked on it for like 3 days and 15 install attempts (yea, I'm slow)Finally when I enabled the onboard video and pulled the video card, it worked.
