Does Win2000 Support PC card Hot Swap?

edited October 2003 in Hardware
Moving from winnt to 2000 with a computer that has a pc card reader. Using 3rd party pc card software with NT. I have read that 2000 has pc card support builtin. I need to know that it supports hot swapping. Anybody know?

Well, yes/no. It's supposed to, but doesn't always work. I know it has no problems with my USB thumbdrive here at work (w2k) and that uses the same features the PC Card would for 'hot-swapability.'

What do you mean it doesn't work sometimes. The main thing I have to know for sure is that if someone walks by and pulls out the card it doesn't lose data, because that was a problem with NT. What were your problems with it?

Just flakiness and incompatibilities, but if it works from the start then it works well. Typical windows disclaimer, ya know? ;)
