If you see a need for a tiny switch then go for it. In the SOHO realm of networking a switch is a switch.

well see i like to hide things and reduce clutter so a mini switch is pretty appealing, i was just wondering if anybody has an opinions on the brand or model

Yes, I've seen a lot of companies produce stuff like the minis and have personal experience... they're legitimate switches, but they don't stay where you want them very easy as their size tends to get pushed around easily by the cabling connected to them.

I've got an SMC 6405TX 5 port EZ Switch that measures approximately 25mm thick X 90mm deep X 120mm long that's been cranking along for over two years with no probs whatever. stoopid is right, though, unless you plant it somehow, it will move around on you and fall off of tables, etc. Other than that, I would get another if I needed it.

Just beware of using adhesives on certain surfaces, most are a real PITA to get off.

[of course I'm referring to the sticky part of the velcro you'd put to anchor it to the table]
