I have a NEC 19" SB. Recently the monitor has been doing some strange thigns. Basically it is horizontally squeshing together by an inch and then returns to it orginal state. Any thoughts?? It is being operates within its rated specs.
I hate to be the one to tell you this but I think it's time to shopping for a new monitor. You'll find that monitors, 99.9% of the time are not cost-effective to repair.
Does sound like a tired monitor, something may be overheating... something may be dying, either way that behavior is rarely caused by magnetism (unless you have large speakers directly next to the monitor)... if you have a warranty, time to exercise it.
i have an older IBM monitor that does the same thing. the problem appears to be that the damn thing cant maintain the magnetic field, and so needs to be degaussed every 5 minutes.
