Well I got moved to a new desk at work. Powered up the new PC and notice something weird about the desktopbackground. When I use a picture that is 800x600 instead of streaching it to fit a higher resuloution it just puts the picture in the top corner and a secound one underneath it. It's a 20inch lcd so theres no way I can use it at 800x600.

I'm useing win2000. If anyone has any ideas how to fix it please let me know.

right click on the screen go into properties, desktop tap and near the bottom right there is a position pull down set it to stretch, that should do the trick.

Actually that was the first thing I tried. I also tried to do it as center and there was the picture dead center with anouther one under it to the right where you could see the edge of it.

that's friggen weird.....ok how bout this take the picture into some photo program and rezise it to match your monitor resolution 1024x768 or whatever you have it cranked up to.

One other possibility (though doesn't make sense but then again neither does the problem) try changing the picture format to something else so gif-jpg or to bmp see if that makes a difference.

Try searching for and deleting your desktop.ini file, make sure to only delete the one associated to your account (can tell by the path to the file if it's yours or not).
