Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 turns off when I access a certain HDD. Help! D:
When I write to or read from a WD drive on the secondary master of my onboard HPT370 controller, my Intellimouse turns off 80% of the time. I've got no clue as to why in the hell this's going on. Maybe my mouse is dieing? Anyway, here are a few things worth nothing that could maybe help you help me:
1. This happens in both Win2K Pro and WinXP Pro.
2. After restart Windows, the mouse turns back on.
3. It seems the mouse turns off 80% of the time for any file I open from the WD drive.
4. My SB Live Value, Realtek RTL8139 NIC, and two VIA USB Universial Host Controllers all share the same IRQ, 12. Consequently, I've tried uninstalling and physically removing the SB Live and NIC (leaving only the two VIA USB Controllers on IRQ 12) to see if maybe there's some sort of IRQ conflict, and the mouse still turns off.
5. The HTP370 controller is on its own separate IRQ: 5.
6. The WD drive's jumpers are correct. (Also, it's formatted to NTFS.)
I'd really appreciate someone's tossing me a clue here. Thanks.
