Changing LapTop Fan

I have an HP Pavilion ze4400 series, the fan sounds horrible. I'd like to replace it, however for the life of me I can't figure out how to take the damn thing apart. I'm pretty sure there are some screws under the keys, but as I'm not looking forward to taking off/putting on each key, I felt I should come here an ask. Are there keys under the keyboard, or does HP have some goofy kind of protection to ensure people don't take apart their laptop. Also, I am curious if anyone has a fan recommendation, I need something quiet.

On a side note, does anyone know if it's possible to find the little braces which hold the keys on...

might not want to change it. it may be annoying, but that might be a sign that the computer runs too hot for hte casing so they need a fast fan. If you were to take it out, youd probably get instability or hardware death.

Ehh, you wouldn't be able to replace the fan with any 'ole fan.

Have you checked HP's website for manuals on how to take it apart?

Generally the keybaord is its own piece. You won't have to take the keys off one by one.

I know on my Compaq I could unsnap the quick launch key cosmetics and then I could just lift the keybaord up and out and disconnect it.

He wasn't just planning on taking the fan out and leaving it, he was going to put another in. Fans do make an annoying noise when they start to die.

My laptop just has 2 things you press in at the top and the keyboard just springs out. I assume it will probably be like that. I don't think anywhere is stupid enough to make one where you have to dismantle the keyboard.

    The manual is your friend.
