Windows shortcut to specific tab

edited October 2003 in Science & Tech
Im trying to make a windows shortcut to a specific tab buried within display properties - settings - advanced. Is there a way to do so? Could someone point me to a tutorial or something?

Im trying to make it so this systems monitor can change its display settings by running a single macro, then back again by a second macro. It needs to dim at night and be normal in the day time. Thanks

You'd actually need some type of script as it's a registry trick and not something you can create shortcuts to within windows... of course, with the new active-everything in nt5 you just might be able to find it burried deep in the system stuff somewhere... but I've never personally seen shortcuts/links to tabs before, and I figure by now I would if it was that easy...

I found the registry entries, but no matter what I do it doesnt chnage the brightness. Ill refresh the registry and it will still be there, but the screen doesnt match the variable (im obviously either missing an entry, or the "apply" button does something more than just chnage reg text).

Lets flip this. Does anyone know of a program that will adjust the brightness of my monitor easliy? Perhaps even a physical solder I could do to...whatever wire controls brightness (bypass the on screen menu, make it "analog" again). Im simply looking for a quick way to adjust the screens brightness, either by 1 button macro or as little keystrokes as possible.
