That's pretty hot. It's above what most people feel is a safe temperature. I've had my processors up that high at times and never had issues ( never kept them there for very long), but those temps are quite high. I'm assuming you're not overclocking or anything. Since you're at stock speeds, I'd say check your HSF is tight on the CPU. Also, you may want to look into re-applying your thermal paste. If you're at stock, you're temps are kind of high.

    What's HSF?
And thanks for the tips... i will look if some new thermal paste works.

HSF = Heatsink/Fan, the big chunk of metal sitting on your CPU with a fan on it, it takes heat away from your CPU. It should site flat on the CPU. Also, when you apply the thermal paste, don't put too much on, too much can be worse than none at all. Just enough to bearly cover the CPU core.

How do you have your case fans set up? Like, where are they, and what direction are they blowing.

Ya i knew what a heatsink and the fan was but didn't know for sure that HSF meaned that.
And i knew that to much thermal paste isn't good to, but there is always some thermal paste on the back of the HSF to, so i don't think that that's the good thing to do.

My Fan in the back of the case is blowing out of the case like the PS, the front one is blowing in my case so the airflow is good enough thougt.
I will try to get some more money and buy an Coolermaster Aero+ Lite.

I think my old Cpu HSF isn't good enough... it's up to an 2700+ and i have an 2600+.
Some months ago i sold my old mobo and cpu with HSF, and that was an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ and with an Coolermaster CP5-8JD1F-0L T/M XP 3200 Retail. That one was T/M XP 3200 and my cpu was only 40\50 Celsius!!!

Get one of the Thermalright SLK series and a decent 80mm fan to go on it.

Sounds like something in your power supply might be going. A resistor, some insulation of some kind...

No matter what he needs to get the CPU temp down too.

Now that you mention it septimus, I think you are correct on the origin of the smell.

Yeah, I was thinking, "burning rubber" smell? What could produce that other than something like plastic or rubber melting? Its that sulphur content methinks.

If it is your power supply makin the smell, Then shut it down and don't use it again!!!!!!
A toasted power supply can/will kill many other system componants. BE CAREFULL!

    Ditto on MTGOAT's thoughts.

    But i have my memory now on 133fsb--> i have 512MB PC2100.
My cpu is now 48 Celsius... my cpu(2600+) now works on an 2000+ My dad will buy an new cooler for me, i think the Cooler Master Earo 7 lite. and i buy new mem.

You might want to check that none of your ATA cables are on your memory sticks. I ended up have to rma a stick of 256 becouse of it.

Also make sure your power cables are clear of the HSF, video card chips etc. Look for any dust or anything hindering the fans from moving at full speed.
