on board nic

i have an 8k5a2 mobo and my onboard nic i am having problems with...here is the deal... when i plug the network cable in its says its connected to the network ( i am sharing a conection through a router and a hub se we are all networked) and it is sending out dated but receiving none..anybody have an idea whats wrong? or had this happen before?"

    Have you tried updating your drivers? How about a different cable? If you can get your hands on an inexpensive PCI NIC, try that as well. Did you try switching ports on the router?

    Sounds like a cabling issue, make sure the cable you're using (assuming it goes straight into the hub and not another NIC on another PC) is NOT a twisted pair/cross-link cable (which is specific for conencting (2) PCs via NIC card together). If you're not sure, try plugging the PC in, temporarily, straight into the cable/dsl modem to see if there's a routing issue. If it still doesn't work, it's likely the cable.

    May be related to the other issue(s) you're having with that board...

    It's your drivers- sometime it be working then dam windows update will install a newer one and it will stop baster never update anything if your happy with it
