DVD-RW Burning Problem...

Hey... I just recently bought some Memorex 2x DVD-RWs for my Pioneer DVR-A05 and when I try to burn on them... it gives me an error sort of like this "...bad medium..."

When I first open the package there was "NOTICE!" and it stated that people with Pioneer DVD Drives need to get some sort of update. I ignored this because it only listed drives up to the A04... It didn't include my specific drive. Right now Im assuming the notice was made before the drive and I need to get this update but I don't know where to get the update that I need to get.

Anyone know if I need this certain update or is something else the problem?

It is possible that you need a firmware update for your drive. The DVD-RW that came with your drive works just fine right?

I believe Pioneer's website has this firmware update for you :D

Yes... my Sony 2x (They only work in 1x for some reason) dvd's work and my pioneer dvd's also work... It's just these Memorex ones that aren't working... I will try again today!

I did update my firmware shortly after I got the drive and I haven't heard about any updates or anything in awhile.. I'll have to go check it out.

I actually found out that it was one of my DVD'. (bahh, hate when that happens)

I got a new firmware update and tried another DVD and it worked fine!

Firmware update. I had the same thing with my NEC 1100A. It refused to read black media until I flashed the bios.
