lo all, with broadband arriving at Xmas for me im looking at which provider I should go with...

Different providers offer different start up costs / free modems etc but I was wondering which are the decent ones? Is there a vast difference between them?

AOL aside...

The options I have in mind are... Zen, Freeserve, BT and Demon.

BT and Demon throw in a modem and free connection thing but I dont know whether the service is any good.

Thanks in advance

With BT any problems you have with your line are gonna be fixed quicker. Zen are trying to brake away from the norm but are still just a business oriented ISP that offers home connections.

Freeserve I hate with a passion so I wont say anything about them as it will be biased.

Demon seem to cater for everyone, and its the kind of ISP that really knows what they are doing. Proper hardcore tech ISP.
Customer Services might not be the best because of it though.

If you need support, go with Zen or BT. If you can fix your own problems go with Demon.

Also, have a read of http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ for feedback. Just remember that site is mostly used by people who want to bitch about their ISP... But there are a few guys who remain objective and are usually worth listening to.
