Lotsa 15K rpm hard drives

edited December 2003 in Hardware
I just set up a disk array on my home computer of 7+1(spare) 15000 RPM cheetah 36GB fibre channel generation 2 drives. I got a software (crap) raid going until my Mylex ExtremeRAID 3000 gets here in the next week or so. Imagine the sheer overkill on a motherboard with only 32bit PCI slots!

you better put a system to that to uses -- you better be one of those dvd ripped/encoder ,hosting a video on demand server and i better be able to pull 100gb in like 8min with optics or something what do you do with that may i ask what the cost

my server load windows untweak in like 20sec from power on
