Anyone messed with the IBM 2.8 floppy drive?

edited December 2003 in Hardware
I have one here and want to throw it in, but this particular drive is different. There is no separate power connector on it, it apparently is combined into the data cable. Is there an adapter or special cable of any sort that will let me hook it up to a standard floppy connection? Thanx.

Nope, it uses a standard cable, and power connector. It formats 1.44 floppies into 2.88MB, but I think more likely you have to find the rare 2.88MB floppies.

There is no power connector. Trust me.

Sounds like the power connector was broke off at one time
