Just got a pair of Raptors....hey Tex!
I just bought a pair of Raptors, and they are installed & powered, but I didn't put the cables on em yet. I intend to put them in an array, and I would like to copy the contents of my current boot drive to them.
Right now I have:
2 Maxtor 120's, C: and D:
C: is the boot drive with most of my apps on it, and D: is the drive I put all my games on. C has about 60 gig on it, and D has about 40 on it. The reason for the post..apart from the fact that I have never had any success building a striping array, is that when I installed the second drive in this machine, I noticed it made my cd Drive D originally, and it was more complicated than I thought it should have been to rename the second HDD to "D" and make the cd drive into "E." I would rather someone "in the know" advise me here, before I destroy the drive contents by accident.
What do I need to do to successfully make the transition from my current C: to the array?

You should pull out the maxtors, and format the drives with only the raptors powered. Then you insert the old drives and copy stuff over.
