lo everyone, can anyone advise me on a decent ADSL modem which can connect via ethernet cable to put into a router?

The modems I seem to find online are all USB with no ethernet :( The ones that come with BT and Demon broadband are those speedtouch ones that look like a stingray and ive bean told they dont have ethernet connector.

thanks in advance

If not then I presume I can share a broadband connection with my router plugged into my network card and enable internet connection sharing...

I know Alcatel, the original makers of the infamous stingray ADSL modem also used to make ethernet-based modems.

When I used to have ADSL, I was given a Westell 1100 ADSL modem that had both USB and ethernet. You might want to try looking into Westell's modems.

Another brand, Linksys, markets a combo router + ADSL modem. Looks like a nice package.

D-Link also offers ethernet-based ADSL modems.

I used to use the stingray Alcatel modem (hated it with a passion!!) but traded it in for an Alcatel Speed Touch Home ADSL-Ethernet modem. Works great for the network with 7 computers on it (router and a switch).
