Vibration Shutdown

Not to bag on Thermaltake but this fan caused me so many
problems.
"First Off" What's the first thing you do when your computer
keeps Rebooting every 15 to 20 min.?
Check windows Display for harddrive shutdown and Power
Managment for computer shut off.............................
Well all these settings where fine. So now that left me
thinking that i probably have some kind of Virus?
"No Viruses"
The Problem turned out to be a over powering unbalanced
CPU fan. The fan would Vibrate so much that it broke down
the velocity of the thermal past on the CPU chip.
I would turn the computer on and 15 to 20 min. Later it
would just reboot over and over again .
Finally I decided to take off the CPU fan and look at the
situation. There it was a mess.
There was thermal past pushed all out to the sides of the
CPU. There was very little past on the chip, all you could
see was a dry and scrached Cpu chip.
After cleaning the mess off and carefully applying a thin
layer of thermal past. I placed the fan back onto the CPU.
Clamped firmly to the socket i attached the fan wire back
onto the fan 1 . Booting the computer i ajusted the fan
down to 3000rpm. After that the computer ran just fine.
"For Now".
Conclusion:
I'm buying the Zalman CNPS7000A CPU cooling fan.
It has a 92mm fan with a pure copper base for exellent
heat dissipation. And you don't have to run the thing
at 5000 rpm. The Zalman fan cools at Silent Mode
at 1350 rpm. and Normal Mode at 2400 rpm.
Thermal Resistance:
Silent Mode - 0.27 deg.
Normal Mode - 0.20 deg.
So if you want a CPU cooling fan that cools great but
has low vibration and noise control. Get a Zalman.
Buy the way the Thermaltake Volcano series fan's
have a problem with housing screws stripping out.
