overclocking an Xp2500+ to a 3200+

edited December 2003 in Hardware
I want to overclock my processor but I need a better cpu fan to keep it cooler. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a a7n8x delux mother board. Thanks

In the CPU Overclocking FAQ I linked to the overclockers.com heatsink roundup, a VERY useful list of the best heatsinks available. The SLK800 and 900 are tops at this moment, the minimum I'd recommend is the AX-7. Depending on your wallet you may HAVE to go with the AX-7, but sometimes you can find the SLK800 for $20 or so at svc.com

    Good luck!

I am running my Barton 2500+ @ 2304mhz and using the SLK800 with a Delta 68cfm 80mm fan and it runs about 38.0 degrees celsius with a case temp of 39.0 celsius.

Thermaltechs silent boost gets the job done and is on the quite side of a good cooling hsf. A bud of mine had it on the same board running 2800xp oced past a 3200xp with max temps getting up to 46c. I beleive his fsb was set at 420. Dont remember the multiplyer but I'm thinking he had to have been getting over 2300ghz or somewhere around those lines.
