OHHH CRAP....someone tell me this isnt as bad as it seems

We just got a new laptop, and well the car adapter got plugged in at the wrong voltage and the wrong polarity.....

SMOKE!

AHHHHH

How bad is this, is it shot? Can i have it fixed?

No warranty....

    it booted though w/ as much juice as was left but wont charge....

    well if you think about it, if it wont charge, its probably your battery if it still powers on. Try to replace ur battery and make sure you are able to return it just in case that wont solve the problem.

    no no...

    The AC wont work...it boots w/ the battery...

    When i plug the AC in nothing happens...doesnt charge or even come on.....

    There is residual power still on the battery, i am letting it sit over night to c if i can get enough residual to power up OS...to make sure all is well and just the AC out lit is blown....


    Is that possible? Just where the plug plugs in is blown?

    Then the AC in the lappy is fried. Hopefully it's a fuse, if not it could very well be internal transformer that's toast.

    It sounds like your fried the laptops internal charging circuit. More than likely it will have to be shipped back for repairs.

    Call ur Manufactuer and tell them what happened, they can tell you what next steps u can take.

    Well it turns out the LT is still under warranty....YAHOOOOOO....
    and can be extended another 3 yrs...YOU KNOW IT BABY...

    They are sending a box for it and will have it back to me in 2 wks...

    If you're lucky it's probably just a fuse. Probably to protect the laptopc from what happened, as it could of been MUCH worse!
