Hi,

Ive got a 266mhz board (jetway), just wondering will a XP2600+ 333fsb processor work in the board but @ 266mhz or will it fail to boot. I cannot find any 266sb versions of the processor to rare.

The processor will likely run, but at a slower speed (since the default multiplier will be used and the bus speed is decreased).

Multiplier x Bus speed = CPU clock speed

Can i increase the Multiplier or FSB to match what the original XP2600+ 266mhz versions were

Depends on the board. Some boards will allow for multiplier modification on that processor without having to make any physical modifications, some do not...

Jetway? I dount it's a very overclocking-friendly board (which are the features you'll need because for all intensive purposes that's what you're doing -- running the motherboard past specifications). Even just raising the bus speed could create problems depending on the board's chipset. Most people used the barton as an excuse for a decent upgrade to Nforce2 or a KT400 motherboard.
