Blurry Video Playback

Regarding the ETPC listed in my sig:

I get this weird double-vision effect when I play video on the computer. It's hooked up to my TV, and everything else is perfectly clear except video playback. I've tried several driver versions for Divx and Xvid with no change. I've also updated the Catalysts.

It did this once with the computer I used to have in there, which used the same graphics card but different everything else. I'm not sure what I did to fix it, I think it only took a driver reinstall.

Yesterday it seemed to have gotten worse. Now it's blurry AND pixelated. What gives?

Is everyone stumped or would this be better off in a different forum?

    How do games run?

Sounds like a driver issue to me, though it could be a number of things. It could also be a problem relating to your current TV out dual screen setup. Try unplugging and disabling your multi screen settings in your ATI control panel, and see if that cures it. If not post back.

EDIT: In fact, after reading back over your original post... are you just using your TV as your primary display, or are you experiencing this problem on a standard PC monitor aswell? If in fact the problem is exclusive to viewing videos through your TV, then the problem may not be just one thing. Video playback through your TV (from a PC) will never be great quality, the moire type effect may only be more noticable when you play back high-resolution video files.

If in fact your are just talking about when viewing just on your TV, you might try switching to maybe the latest Omega drivers, as they have better functionality and support for the TV out on ATI cards. You may also want to have a play with TVtool, which is a nice piece of shareware designed to get the most out of your TV output.

The TV is the primary display. I'll try hooking a monitor up to it and see if I still get the problem.

I haven't tried running games on it, but I do run the Tripex 3 Winamp plugin on it (uses Direct 3d). It seems to be running well.
