SATA HDD won't format...

When I try formatting it in XP, it says "Could not format" around an hour after I clicked "Start"!!

In DOS, it doesn't work either...

It's a SATA Maxtor 6Y080M0

Anyone got any answers?

Hmmm, how about the utility cd/floppy that came with the drive?

Sry, i don't have sata, have you checked here?

If not maybe the drive is defective and you can RMA it.
