Activation issues?

I have XP Home and XP Pro, ALL LEGAL! The Home edition is on one PC and the Pro is on the other.
Can I reinstall XP (either edition) on a diferent hard drive within the same system (AKA just for benchmarking) or will there be any "activation" issues?
Anybody understand the MS rules on hardware changes and such?

I assume you mean to benchmark the harddrive.

The easiest way would just be to use Ghost and mirror it from one drive to the other. Or install it but don't activate it. Then run your benchmarks.

You should be able to activate it again with no problem, though it may require a call to M$ to beg for them to allow you to do it.

Yep you get like 14 days of usage w/o activating. Simply tell it later when it comes up asking you to. Once you find how you want your system setup get it put together and activate that install, you might have to call MS and they'll give you a new key after you trade some #'s with them but they are really very good about the process.
