Too Heavy of a heatsink? (Zalman 7000 series) for Pentium 4
Apparently the max recommended weight that Intel says the P4 heatsinks should be is 450 g, Zalman makes an all copper and a part copper mostly aluminum heat sink that exceeds it, BIG time. Their copper one weighs 773 g and the mix one is 445 g. I originally got the 445g never installed it, went back to store, saw they had an all copper version and then swapped them. I now have the all copper one, not installed yet. What are your oppinions on this? It does specify that it is not recommended to move the case while heat sink is installed. Oppinions please, I don't want to wreck my EXPEN$IVE P4 processor, and possibly the EXPEN$IVE Asus motherboard.
A side note, apparently Zalman's 6000 series was 898 grams for the all copper one, thank God I don't have that one.

If it's designed for both the AMD and P4 boards, use it with confidence. Intel just posts that warning for ppl that deliberately knock the case over and the weight of the heatsink will snap the board in 2.
With all this weight could it snap/crack the outer part of the bracket which is screwed through the board? I just recently snapped the bottom right corner out because of the Tt volcano 7 which I tried (I absolutely HATED, LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!, no automatic setting, LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!! on silent mode, LOUD!!!!!!!), this happened when I was trying to get it off and putting pressure on it, though. Also, what do you think the heat dissapation difference would be when comparing the aluminum-cu combo vs. the all copper? Cu = 773g, Al/Cu = 445g and about the 25-30% middle part being copper.
